Review
- This whole episode was a tribute to Dana, with the girls reminiscing about Dana.
Some great flashbacks.
- They all took a road trip to this cabin in the woods where Dana had her first
lesbianic experience. There was a beautiful waterfall there where they took and
spread some of her ashes.
- Oh I guess I should mention that the episode opens up at Dana's funeral, with
some bible beater pastor up there going on about how Dana never fulfilled her
domestic dreams of meeting a man and getting married. (gag me with a spoon)
So Alice gets up in the middle of the funeral and says "What are you talking about??
Dana was gay!" and she storms out.
- Alice them proceeds to steal some of the ashes so that they can go on the little
trip described above.
- Dylan drops off a package at Helena's house. Helena tries to run out and see
her, but Dylan is pulling away in her little blue VW Beetle. Cute car.
- Helena puts the tape in the VCR and it is a tape from Dylan explaining the whole
thing, basically saying that she loves her, but Helena stops and fast forwards
through certain areas of the tape so we aren't sure exactly what Dylan says.
Its wide open for Dylan to come back.
- Shane is having a hard time dealing with Dana's death. She is crying a lot.
Then she busts out with asking Carmen to marry her. Carmen agrees.
- Bette gets back from her retreat where she has to see Tina and her Man flaunting
themselves in front of her and doing "family" things. Gross. Clue phone, its
for you, Tina.
- Bette goes to see the lezzie lawyer, where she says she wants to try to get full
custody. On the account of Angelica being biracial, who better to raise her than
Bette? I hope she gets custody too. I am mad at Tina.
- Oh, yes, the episode ends with Lara showing up and Alice lets her in to Dana's
place. They are both in pain. So what do they do, they kiss, of course. It
remains to be seen what will happen with those two.
- My wish list: I hope Dylan comes back and she and Helena are able to work things out. That's
about the most interesting thing going on in the show lately.
- I wish that Bette and Tina could just fall in love again and be a happy family
with their daughter. Come on.
- I wish that Shane would just settle down with Carmen and they could be happy.
- I wish that the whole thing with Dana was just a bad dream and that she is still
with us and that things with her and Alice work out.
- I wish that Kit could find a better place for her story in this series. I'm
not buying the Mangus storyline.
- I guess you could call me a relationship gal, I don't like to see people unhappy
or in turmoil. And realistically, come on, there has to be at least one long
term relationship here, or how can they say they are lesbians????? LOL.

Review
- During this episode, there is a little timer on the screen that shows minute
by minute, so that you can see how the whole world is just spinning around and
everyone is doing their thing, meanwhile....their beloved friend is in the last
minutes of her life.
- Ho hum. Dana died. Saw that one coming. Why couldn't they kill off Jenny.
People actually don't like her and are looking for an excuse to not have to hear
her story any more. I know that's mean, but I'm just tired of her weird drama.
- I felt really bad for Erin Daniels, the person...after her comments at the end
of the episode...that she was really bummed about the story line.
- Bette spends the entire episode at a bus station talking to two strangers. She
is on her way home. Will be interesting to see what happens when she gets there,
as there are little hints that all might not be well with Tina and The Penis.
I have a feeling she is having second thoughts. Then when Bette gets back she
[Tina] will realize what a fool she has been. *please please please*
- Carmen tells Shane that she cheated on her, after Shane screwed Sherri. Shane
gets all mad, but then end up having some kick ass make up sex. Shane is the
one of the biggest tops I've ever seen. Before this series is over, it would
be great to see her let go a little.
- Kit freaks out because Mannie is late and she can't get in touch with him. Turns
out there was really no problem, but Kit can't stand feeling that way. Welcome
to Falling in Love.
- Alice is spending most of her time at the hospital. She decides to go for a
walk to get some air. While she is out, she runs into Dana's ex- oh whats her
name...the obnoxious one...whatever...she runs into her and she expresses her
regret over the way things ended with Dana. Alice doesn't tell her that she is
sick.
- When Alice gets back up to the room, Dana has died. While Alice was out, she
coded and they were unable to revive her. :(

- It appears that Dylan set up Helena. She brought her video camera and caught
Helena making what could be construed as sexually harassing statements. Helena
tells Dylan that she isn't going to get anything from her unless she does exactly
what she tells her. She proceeds to tell Dylan to fuck her and enjoy every minute
of it. (Dylan tells Helena that Danny is off shooting somewhere when in reality
he is in the next room.)
- Once Dylan sees Helena off, Danny comes out and asks Dylan if she "got it".
Dylan seems really unhappy about it but tells him she did.
- Helena is served with papers from a lawyer regarding a sexual harassment lawsuit
from Dylan.
- My opinion is that Danny made Dylan do it for some reason. Either he is pissed
off that Dylan was cheating on him or he is blackmailing Dylan in some way.
- Alice meets a girl and gets a date. She struggles over whether to go because
she'd really rather stay home with Dana. Dana tells her to go. So Alice goes
on the date but has to leave halfway through because Dana calls and isn't feeling
well. When Alice gets back to Dana, Dana is very sick. With an infection. She
has to go to the hospital.
- Max holds a queer prom to raise money for his sex reassignment surgery. He only
makes $3k so he gets all pissed off. Jenny puts him in his place. Overall,
not a very interesting storyline. They should have made us get invested in the
character first before they pulled out this crazy storyline.
- Kit is finally letting herself fall in love with Mannie. She said if she would
marry anyone it would be him. But she won't get married until all of her gay
friends and family also have the same rights. Bravo!!
- Tina meets a cute guy at her daughters swimming lessons. One thing leads to
another and he ends up back at her house. They screw. In the meantime, Bette
is away at her "silent" retreat. She is lonely so she calls home and leaves a
heart-wrenching message to Angelica. She says that she just wants her life back.
Meanwhile, Tina is in the other room getting the baloney poney. I can understand
Tina wanting the penis. I mean, it happens. I just wish it didn't happen to
them. I wanted things to work out. I really really wanted things to work out-
I wanted to see them overcome infidelity and come out stronger on the other side.
But alas, it does not appear this is going to happen.
- Carmen comes out to her family, because they were over for dinner and Carmen's
mom is trying to set Shane up with a guy. Its really pissing Carmen off so she
just comes out and tells her mom in front of everyone that they are girlfriends. Mom
tells them both to get out.
- Shane gets upset because she gets along with Carmen's family and she's never
really had a family, so she doesn't want to lose that. In the middle of that
fight, Shane gets a call that Dana is in the hospital and they need to get over
there.
Good stuff.

Review
- Holy Toledo...I...I...c...c...can't believe what my eyes saw. Do they deceive
me?? They do not. Well. I'm just speechless. (scene between Dylan and
Helena...)
- The ep opens up with a little scene between Alice and Dana...I guess its when
they were breaking up. Doesn't seem like it was a bad break up, but it didn't
delve into why Dana left her.
- Tina is being so mean. (she looks hot this season, though.) I wish she could
be nicer to Bette and I wish they could work things out. Seriously, she was milk
toast in the first season and now look at her. Who has such extremes in their
personality?
- Dana's hair is falling out. So Shane shaves it off. Not a great look for her,
but it's ok...we understand.
- Carmen has a dream that Shane gave Sherrie Jaffe a tattoo like the ones they
have on the back of their necks. So she wakes up in the morning and starts getting
mad at Shane as though it really happened. Then she starts ranting about how
Shane grew wings and flew away or some shit. She wouldn't talk to Shane for days
because of her dream. I can relate to that because a few times a year I'll have
a very vivid dream that will affect me the next day, it'll feel so real that I
will behave as though it really happened. Strange.
- Moira has officially become Max. That happened kinda quick. I mean, its a big
decision, to happen only after 7 episodes...perhaps they should show more of the
struggle to come to that conclusion and saved the transition for next season.
Max gets some type of contraption for peeing standing up at a men's urinal.
- I'm not sure what Jenny's role is this year. I think they are just toning her
down this season, which is good.
- Didn't see Laura this ep. I like her. They should find another storyline for
her. Lesbians are incestuous anyway, she could start dating someone else.
- They spent too much time on the Kit singing thing. That was a little painful.
Episode 7 "Lone Star"
Video
Review
- The story opens up with Bette and Alice at an opera, it is ?the early 90's? and
it was when the two of them were dating. The music gets really intense and Bette
finger fucks (to use Alice's exact words, lmao) Alice right there during the opera.
Across the way, there is a woman with one of those little...kinda like binoculars...and
she is spying on them. And smiling...
- Dylan tries to put the moves on Helena, but Helena ain't going for it this time.
She says its too hard and confusing for her- she doesn't want to be Dylan's "lie".
Again, Dylan asserts that she is straight...but she likes Helena...a lot...hmmm...
- Dylan was looking very very very sexy...that shirt...and that necklace...and
her hair...and...oh the whole package. All of it *waving hand in a circle*...
- Dana is being...very grouchy. Understandably so. But she is really pushing
Laura away. Laura is trying to be nice and supportive but Dana is just a big
old grouch. I don't know, I think I'd want to run away from that...its hard when
you are trying to care for someone and they are rejecting you in some way. Even
though on an intellectual level I can understand why Dana is so freaked out, its
still hard to swallow when someone doesn't want your support and your caring.
- Laura tells Alice that Dana needs her. This, after Alice tells Laura that Dana
needs her. I smell an Alice/Dana reunion.
- Tina gets ready to get it on with that guy...but when they are making out he
is saying stuff like "there is no way you are a lesbian" and she freaks out and
tells him to take a hike (yay!!).
- I like Carmen.
- Oh, Carmen tries to "take care of" Shane, if you catch my drift, but Shane wasn't
into it...and tells Carmen she's distracted. Come on Shane, you were doing sooo
good for the first few episodes, I was starting to like you, I thought you might
even have a heart. But now I see you are up to your old shenanigans. Poo.
- OH! Ok. Max/Moira fucks that guy....the guy who is running the Planet. Ew!
That was really nasty!
Episode 6 "Lifesize"
Video
Review
- Dylan tells Helena that she is str8 (whatev!) and that its never going to happen
again (whatev!). Then they proceed to make out madly. Whatever that thing was
they were doing on the couch- I liked it.
- Shane tells Carmen what happened with Sherrie. They get back together. [I'm]
Not sure if Shane can do monogamy.
- Bette keeps asking Tina if she did it with that guy yet. Tina is still being
a cold fish.
- Kit and the Mannie are doin it. Kit seems to be a little jaded, doesn't let
herself go too much.
- Excellent acting from Erin Daniels. We have the drama with the parents telling
Laura that she doesn't need to go in and see Dana, because she needs her sleep.
Even though Laura said she'd be there when she woke up.
- During the operation they found that the cancer was more advanced then they had
anticipated. Laura calls up Alice right away and Alice and Laura go over to the
hospital. Eventually, everyone finds out and they all go over to the hospital.
- Moira- I'm blanking. Must not have been exciting.
Episode 5 "Lifeline"
Video
Review
- This episode made up for lack of sex in the previous episodes.
- The episode opens up with a scene from 1985, a guy stops at a gas station with
a flat tire, he is on the phone talking about some bible shit. He gets out of
the car and the attendant takes him in and shows him the tires.
- He ends up blowing the attendant.
- Dana is diagnosed with infiltrating ductal carcinoma. She opts for a mastectomy.
She doesn't tell her friends, she just downplays the severity of the surgery.
Laura is upset by this.
- Dana looks at herself in the mirror trying to imagine she will look like with
only one breast. They have sex the night before the surgery. Dana is ready to
give up on her career, she thinks she will never play again. She is depressed.
- Bette finds out about Tina's online chatting but Tina denies it.
- Bette is getting into her meditation. She might be offered a job at director
of the Whitney center in NYC. Tina isn't sure she will move if she gets the job.
She has a job she likes and she likes living in LA. Tina finally confesses to
Bette that she is having confusing feelings about men. In the teasers for next
week, it appears that Bette tells Tina to go and explore her feelings, but she
can't guarantee that she will be there when she figures it out. Looks like these
two are headed for splitsville? ugh.
- Tina has been flirting with this filmmaker at work. He buys her her favorite
movie poster.
- Alice goes to bisexual speed dating and meets a vampire. She does out on a date
with her. They go back to the vampire's place and have incredible sex. Alice
says she never thought she'd have sex like that again. YAy!!! The vampire puts
Alice in bondage and has her way with her.
- Sherri, Shane's former mistress, shows up at Shane's workplace, for a haircut.
Carmen shows up and gets jealous- tells Shane to act like she has a girlfriend.
Carmen storms off. Sherri tells Shane to come to her shore house this weekend.
- Helena goes over Dylan's house to see the documentary. Dylan is sitting there
(hot as ever!) telling the story of the documentary, when, they lock eyes and
Dylan leans in for a kiss. Dylan apologizes. Helena tells her not to be sorry.
Dylan plants herself on Helena's lap and they make out furiously as Dylan unbuttons
her shirt and places Helena's hand on her breast. Dylan's boyfriend comes home,
interrupting things...and they quickly regain their composure.
- Moira goes for a job interview. Experiences a little bit of...inappropriateness...the
interviewer telling her he can't really "peg" her and asking what teams she bats
for. She gets home later and is feverishly cleaning. Jenny comes home and tells
"Max" to get dressed. We see Max binding (wrapping an ace bandage around the chest to flatten it) and packing (um, putting something in your pants to make it look like you are a guy down
there). Pretty hot.
Moira/Max has a nice body. Actually, all the characters do.
- The mannie serenades Kit with the song "Changes" at the bisexual speed dating
event. Spent a little too much time on this scene. Not sure why. They are
trying hard to keep Kit's character in the storyline, its obvious. I wish they
had a better story for Kit.
- Shane has some type of party at the skateboarding place. She looks hot in that
white oxford shirt with the lesbian t-shirt underneath and blazer. What's with
the clothing change this season? I wonder if they took a cue from the L Word
message boards. I like it a lot...it totally changes things for me.
- Alice sees Max and Jenny dancing at the party and Jenny is touching Max's package...and
says "She's packing. She is PACK-ing!!..." That was a great line.
- (Carmen is hot when she is DJing.) Carmen is mad at Shane. So Shane, like the
fool that she is, goes over Sherri's house. They end up by the pool ripping each
others clothes off. Shane strapped it on and...whew!! some pretty hot action
followed. Carmen is so much better looking than Sherri, but just for that scene,
I'll accept that Shane cheated on her.

Episode 4 "Light My Fire"
Video
Review
All I know is that Alex was great in her scene, really good. Bravo! I'm hung
up on the episode 5 spoiler right now. *daydreaming*
- Bette was tempted by a married senator when she went to Washington DC to lobby
for more arts funding. She actually held back and didn't take the bait. She
broke my heart when she said "I wish that my girlfriend wanted me as much as you
do..." I would love it if they could be in a loving relationship and that they
could just work their shit out. I really love both of those characters.
- Dana won a big tennis match and got a trophy. Still no diagnosis but it looks
like that is coming next week. I wish we could learn more about Lara. She's
always there on Dana's arm but we never learn about her. She'd be a great new
character for the show, they brought her back because people liked her (I imagine...).
I wonder if they are planning a Dana-Alice get back together, perhaps that is
why they are not delving into Lara more.
- Alice might be chilling out. A little.
- There was the opening of "Wax" at the skateboard place and Shane buzzed some
hair off. What the?
- Moira- we learn that s/he is also called Max.
Sorry for the shitty review this week, I was counseling a friend at the same
time so I was only half paying attention, with the exception of Alex's part.
THAT garnered my full attention.

Episode 3 "Lobsters"
Review
I think I'll use bullets to make my points.
-
Holy nuns on the bus. That was the best part of the whole show.
-
Shane might be getting a gig at a skateboarding place. Think this might be a
way to introduce some more butch characters.
-
Helena- more foreshadowing with tarot cards- new love interest, this person could
also run the movie studio she just bought.
-
Bette- the NEA pulled funding for her art exhibit because it is critical of the
Bush administration. Relevant political commentary...
-
Bette might have to sell some of her personal art collection to get $$.
-
Since when did Tina become such a miser? I miss the first season Tina. Not
the milk toast, but the person who was sensitive and actually cared about Bette.
Seems they've swung too far the other way with this character.
-
Bette and Tina's nannie is a "mannie"...I like it.
-
Dana gets a breast exam and a mammogram, they find a mass, but its probably "nothing"
because she's so young. I wish I had a dollar for every person who was "too young"
to get cancer, but died of it because of lack of concern [about cancer] on the
doctors part. Pretty typical. Sadly.
-
Alice is on the radio still talking about Dana, she's gonna lose her job if she
doesn't stop. She's getting one more chance to knock it off. I agree, its time
to move on, Alice.
-
Tina gets a job offer from Helena to work at the movie studio. Bette doesn't
like it, but Tina doesn't care. Nice.
-
Moira tells a strange lobster story, then leaves the table because she doesn't
feel like she belongs. Maybe everyone was looking at her weird because of the
really bizarre lobster story out of nowhere. I'm sorry, I just don't like this
character and the acting isn't anything to write home about. The character doesn't
flow easily in the story, she's too obvious- calling Shane "buddy" and "let us
butches unload the truck"- who talks like that? You are what you are, you don't
go around talking like that. Is Carmen supposed to say "Come on Jenny, let us
femmes go prepare dinner for our butches..." Puh-lease!
-
The last scene was silly. What the hell is Moira crying about? Jenny and Co.
were not that mean to her. They might not have wildly embraced her, but seriously, after
that lobster story, what did she expect?

Episode 2 "Lost Weekend"
Review
The only thing I remember from the episode is Carmen's hot body. Ok, that's
not true, but it doesn't STOP. It, being her body.
This episode starts off again, with another short blip from 1979, the Castro
in San Francisco. This woman is walking around looking for sex, she wanders into
a bathhouse, and is directed somewhere where the girls are. She makes it there
and starts getting it on with someone. I thought she looked a little like Mel
from Queer as Folk.
Alice goes to a support group for Love Addicts. She talks about why she dated
the male lesbian, Lisa, saying how "easy" guys are. (I wish I could meet a male
lesbian- anyone know one?) Helena hires a Lesbian cleaning service for Alice
(Lez Clean Up, ha ha ha) to help get her apartment in order. Really they are
there to get rid of her Dana shrine. Alice fights getting rid of the life size
cut out of Dana. Alice makes an ass out of herself again when she takes a box
of sex toys that she and Dana used and dumps them on Dana's table at the Planet.
Then it cuts to Jenny and Moira. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, but I
just don't like this story line and they just spend too much time on Jenny. Too
much time. Moira is cute in her own way, but I'm not impressed with the character
so far. The voice, also, doesn't match the person. Ok...Jenny goes down on Moira
whilst she is driving. Ok, what the...how does that happen? Am I...naive or
missing something? How is this possible whilst driving? Is this something I
need to try?? Sheesh.
Then some guys start harassing Moira at a gas station, calling her a fag. They
drag her out of the truck and start attacking her. (aren't they rushing into
this a little fast, its only the second episode) Anyway, Jenny comes to the rescue
with a stun gun (uh huh) and gets the bad guy. On their road trip back to LA,
Jenny and Moira stop at a dive bar. Moira ends up asking this other chick to
dance, and then of course, Jenny gets jealous and makes them leave. They leave
and have an interesting scene at the motel where Jenny tries to "give" to Moira
who refuses, but doesn't go into why.
Kit has a casino night "Vulva Las Vegas" (get it?) at the Planet for AIDS research.
Alan Cummings plays the emcee, dressed in fabu drag and even shows a little arse.
There was a hot lesbian Elvis. The soup chef is lookin' really hot this season.
Her hair...its lighter or something.
Then Bette is lying awake at night worrying about the adoption. Tina seems aloof.
(could it be that she was sound asleep?) Bette says to Tina that they never talk
anymore they only fight. Ut oh.
Then, perhaps the best part of the show- Shane and Carmen. Shane has to wear
the dress...omigod, that had me laughing out loud, which is rare. Shane in the
dress, with the heels...and the hair. That was FUNNY. Just goes to show you what
people will do when they are in love. Shane looked cute in her boy briefs. Is
she still as thin as last season or did she gain a pound or two. She just looks
better. Then Carmen's mom sets Shane up with a guy. Carmen cuts in, its ok in
Latino culture for two girls to dance. Score! (are Carmen and Shane living together
now?)
Then Dana and Lara are in the bathtub, and they are talking about how Dana needs
to go to the doctor because she needs to get a check up. Hmmmm. Seems fishy
and obvious.

Episode 1 "Labia Majora"
Review
The scene opens up in 1973, a bunch of attractive women are sitting around in
a living room examining their...ahem...er uh...snatches, with mirrors and learning
about their anatomy. This is obviously a very "progressive" thing for the time.
Then the camera kind of zooms in on this one woman who isn't really saying much...there
is a little dialogue between her and the attractive woman sitting next to her...then
the shy woman takes off to the kitchen because she's overwhelmed. The other woman
follows her into the kitchen, where the shy woman is seduced by the more aggressive
woman (why can't this happen to me??)
Then of course, there is the bad Betty opening. Can anyone say, Ilene Chaiken
must be dating one of the Betty band members??
Alright, then...good god, I can't remember...oh this is not a good sign, its
only one night ago and I can't remember what happens next. I remember the end,
they are all throwing out words for vagina, but the one they forgot was poontang.
And then synonyms for having sex, like bury the pipe, bump uglies, etc. And it
fades out.
But before that...
All I know is that Bette and Tina have their adoption hearing. The social worker
who comes to the house is a total freakazoid, barking out orders and passing judgment
like nobody's business. Bette and Tina are practicing attachment parenting (?)
where the baby is in constant contact with a human. Good lord help them. That'll
get old. What about whoopie time? They have no crib and the house is not baby-proofed,
so their first visit wasn't good. We are told there will be another in 2 weeks.
Alice was acting like a total stalker- as in, peering in windows at Dana and
the soup chef getting it on. Kinda getting old, not like Alice to be so...unbalanced,
off her rocker, desperate, etc.
Shane and Carmen finally hook up. They are quite the smokin' couple...I actually
was attracted to Shane for the first time ever. Maybe being more vulnerable,
or was it the oxford shirt? I like her more covered up, and more open hearted and
sensitive. Go Shane! That's it, put your heart out there a little, girl. And
Carmen...
Ok, then there is Helena, who goes to the psychic and is told that she is going
to meet a brunette, who drives a blue car, and is bisexual. Hmmmm...pray tell,
who could this be. They try to set it up like it might be Alice, but I'm not
fallin' for it. No way.
And who could forget dear Jenny, who meets an old friend (?)- Moira, who is kinda...uh...masculine?
She decides to drag her back to LA with her. Jenny gets caught "doing it" with
Moira at her parents house and gets kicked out. But it doesn't matter, she was
leaving anyway. I tuned out most of the rest of the stuff with Jenny, so you'll
have to check elsewhere for more details.
I think thats it. I don't think its in order, but you get it. Right?
I'll take better notes next time.
